Over Spring Break I made a delightful and productive trip to The Needle Nook in La Jolla, California. A portion of their business is dedicated to a thread gallery that is a complete shop full of various threads. There is every fibre content, thickness, color and texture that you could imagine. I spent a good 2 hours in there and came away with quite a stash of threads that I will use for years to come. Some are suitable to use on the machine and all could be used for hand work. See the link in my blog sidebar.

Visited the show at the Silk Purse this afternoon and discovered that my piece had been sold. This is the first one I have sold. All my other work has been given away or kept by me. This is encouraging as the buyer was not family or a friend, but someone that liked the work for its' own sake. The exhibit is so interesting with such different and unique interpretations of the cherry blossom theme. |
